ESCMID Global 2026

The Congress of the European Society of
Clinical Microbiology and Infectious Diseases (ESCMID Global) takes place on the 17–21 April 2026 in Munich, Germany. It will involve keynote lectures, oral sessions, workshops, symposia, meet-the-expert sessions and poster presentations.

The Unit of Tropical Bacteriology (ITM) and its partners will be part of ESCMID Global 2026. Below is the list of the presentations that will be given by our collaborators:

Oral session:

Liselotte Hardy (Antwerp, Belgium) – Low-tech blood culture techniques and protocols: what is truly necessary?

Theresa J. Ochoa (Lima, Peru) – Lactoferrin: a natural defense against neonatal sepsis and necrotising enterocolitis

Igizeneza Acsa (Kigali, Rwanda) – Drive AMS East Africa, inducing behaviour change in resource-constrained settings

Adéchinan Ovide Canisius Gouton (Cotonou, Benin) – Tropicare field: evaluation of the Autobio BC60 Plus tropicalised blood culture system in a resource-limited setting
