Use of VWR benchtop autoclave Vapour-Line Lite II P with built-in printer

The VWR benchtop autoclave Vapour-Line Lite II P  (VWR ref. 481-0847) is a semi-automatic steam sterilizer with a capacity of 23L and a built-in printer, for sterilization of material at 121°C and a maximal pressure of 1.08 bar (15.37 PSI). The top cover has a pressure gauge and safety valve preventing excess pressure build-up.

This procedure explains how to use the VWR Vapour-Line Lite II bench-top autoclave for:

  • Sterilization of culture media
  • Inactivation of used culture media before discarding
