Visit of new neonatology ward in Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Renaissance in Kinshasa, DR Congo

Mid-2025, the Centre Hospitalier Universitaire Renaissance (CHUR) in Kinshasa, DR Congo, moved the neonatology ward to a new building. The new ward offers improved conditions for care of the newborns.

Since 2021, INRB (Institut National de Recherche Biomédicale) and CHUR collaborate with ITM on blood culture surveillance, fever cases and follow-up of nosocomial infections in pediatric and newborn patients. These activities are part of the DGD (Belgian Directorate-General for Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid) funded multi-year program between INRB and ITM.

In November 2025, Anne-Sophie (ITM) visited the neonatology ward together with Niclette, Eddie, Dr Pambu and Edmonde from CHUR and INRB.
